Club History

Tain Rifle Club formed in 1892 as part of "A" Company of the 1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders.

After world war one the club was renamed Tain and District Rifle Club. 27 years later it became the Tain & District Small-bore Rifle Club. Finally in 1980 the current name was adopted which is formally known as Tain and District Small-bore Rifle and Pistol Club or informally known by its members as Tain Rifle and Pistol Club.
